Hornets win Championship 22-12

The Hornets take the championship this year with several very strong defensive plays. The Knights fought valiantly, but two turn overs rendered their long distance drive to the end-zone futile.
The two teams had a strong season, no injuries and some very good performance plays. Congratulations to all of the JRGL players.
Next season will begin October 2013. Team positions are limited.

2011/12 Season - Champions Tasman Hornets

The Junior Gridiron League of NZ 2011/12 Season championship game.
Congratulations to the Tasman Hornets for winning the 2012 Championship game. To all of the players and team members a very hearty and significant shout out by the couches for after game pizza was supplied.
Blue Knights 2011 Champions
The Blue Knights of Nelson took the 2011 championship win on the eve of 8 April.
In a game that was mostly determined by strong running back plays, and few penalties, key back Alice scored an unprecedented two touchdowns. From the inside slot position, wide receiver Samuel brought in a key third touchdown for the Knights. Finally, clinching the game Nathan made a back left slot catch in the end zone to score the final and fourth touchdown for the Blue Knights.

The Tigers quarterback Chelsea threw a consistent passing streak, but unfortunately only one connected for a scoring touchdown, as a 35 yard completion to outside wide receiver Lilly.
The Tiger's key scorer, Jacob attempted several power runs up the middle, but was unable to get any great distance.
In the last few minutes of the game both teams stepped up their defensive strength and there were two turn overs in the last 1:45 seconds.
2010 Season
Submitted by websiteadministrator on Tue, 12/07/2010 - 07:25The 2010 season ended with three very positive results.
Firstly, we had absolutely zero injuries during all of our games. The entire season was injury free and this is a testimony to the concept of ripper (flag) teams, as well as a clear indicator of our excellent coaching volunteers.

Thank you coaches for ensuring safety was number 1.
Secondly, we had one of the best retention and fewest absentees with nearly 100% of players able to perform for every game.
